About the event
Yoga for Men is a 1 ½ hour workshop looking at the benefits of yoga for the modern masculine male & the male body.
We will look at & explore some of the benefits to men, focusing on basic postures that are targeted towards the male body. These are the key areas:
1. DISCIPLINE - Why Yoga is a mechanism to re-programme the body to reconnect to your mental & physical self which ultimately leads to increased physical & mental strength.
2. CONDITIONING - Awareness of self, understanding your body deeper through many levels, prevention & recovery from injury & pain.
3. BALANCE - The improved ability to focus your mind which leads too clearer decision making and better concentration.
4. CALMNESS - Simple breath techniques that regulate your nervous system, combat stress & re-energise.
5. INCREASED MOBILITY & FLEXIBILITY - Read some words from our fantastic teacher Kevin who will be guiding this workshop:
"I am no gymnast, never have been & definitely never will be. Handstands? No. Legs behind the head? Not a chance.
After years of pain & back issues, in 2013 I had major back surgery & had titanium rods fitted to re-heighten my spine & fused on three levels. Touch my toes? Absolutely no chance.
In the following years of recovery I tried many forms of exercises & gym techniques but the pain & stiffness remained. More time was spent recovering from exercise than reaping any benefits.
Then I tried yoga in a studio & the benefits have changed my body & my mind!
I am now averagely flexible, pain free & living life to the full & now teaching yoga!
