FAQ

WHICH OF YOUR CLASS IS RIGHT FOR ME?

If you are brand new to yoga we recommend starting with our Beginner Class. This way you can build up confidence in your own ability and find out what yoga means for you.

If you have already attended a few classes and are familiar with some of the asanas (postures) we have a range of classes to test and grow your balance, stamina and strength.

We also have Restorative and Meditation based sessions which have less physical movement and focus on relaxation.

Shore Yoga SUP/ SURF Waiver

Surf / Stand Up Paddle (SUP) & Yoga Waiver

I understand that participating in both surf or SUP lessons and yoga involves physical activity, which carries inherent risks. In surf lessons, risks include but are not limited to: injury from physical exertion, potential contact with other surfers or surfboards, water-related incidents such as drowning, and unpredictable ocean conditions such as currents, waves, and marine life. In yoga, risks include injury from physical movements, muscle strain, or other physical discomfort. The risk of injury, including serious injury or death, cannot be entirely eliminated in either activity.

Surf/ SUP Risks & Water Safety

I acknowledge that I must have sufficient swimming ability to participate safely in the surf/ SUP session. I confirm that I can swim at least 50 meters unaided and feel comfortable in open water conditions, including being submerged by waves and dealing with strong currents. I understand that my participation in sessions is at my own risk and that the ocean is an unpredictable environment.

Water safety is a priority, and I agree to follow all instructions provided by the instructor to reduce the risk of injury. I acknowledge that failing to follow these instructions or acting beyond my ability could result in injury or harm to myself or others. I also understand that ocean conditions can change rapidly, and I will always exercise caution when entering and exiting the water.

Yoga Practice Risks

Yoga includes physical movements and opportunities for relaxation, stress reduction, and relief of muscular tension. As with any physical activity, the risk of injury is present and cannot be entirely eliminated. If I experience any pain or discomfort during the practice, I will listen to my body, adjust the posture to a safe position, and seek support from the instructor if necessary.

Yoga is not a substitute for medical attention, examination, diagnosis, or treatment. Customers with pre-existing medical conditions or those who are pregnant should seek advice from a medical professional before attending yoga classes. I affirm that I am solely responsible for deciding whether to participate in yoga and for informing the instructor of any relevant health conditions prior to the class.

Participation with a Child

If I am participating in the surf lesson or yoga session with a child under my care, I acknowledge that I am solely responsible for their safety and behaviour. I confirm that my child is physically able to participate in the activity, and I understand the risks involved in both yoga and surf lessons.

For surf lessons, I confirm that my child has sufficient swimming ability to safely participate (swimming at least 50 meters unaided) and that they understand and can follow the safety instructions provided by the instructor. I will ensure that my child follows these instructions and behaves safely during the activity, both in and out of the water.

I accept full responsibility for the supervision of my child during both yoga and surf lessons, and I understand that the instructors are not responsible for overseeing the child’s safety beyond providing instruction and guidance in the activity itself.

General Acknowledgement of Risk

I understand that both yoga and surf lessons are physical activities and that participation is entirely voluntary. I accept the risks associated with both activities, including the potential for personal injury, property loss, or death, for both myself and my child. I will always act within my physical limits and acknowledge the importance of safety and caution in both environments.

I confirm that I am over the age of 16. I agree that I have read and understood the Privacy Statement. I hereby agree to irrevocably release and waive any claims that I have now or hereafter may have against the instructors and/or Shore Yoga for any injury, loss, or damage arising from my participation or my child’s participation in surf lessons or yoga, except in cases of negligence.
