NURTURE - Fourth Trimester Support

Suitable from newborn, no matter what your birth experience. Sessions are a gentle reintroduction to life with baby and reconnecting with your postpartum body. Focusing on all things Fourth Trimester. No yoga for mum as we focus on your mental recovery first. A Mum and baby class in Cullercoats for you both to enjoy together.

MUM AND BABY POSTNATAL YOGA

Tues 10am, Thurs 10am

Suitable from 6 weeks postpartum/ following GP check. Or if you have had a c-section or assisted delivery it is 10-12 weeks. Our specially trained team will guide you through specific postures to aid postnatal recovery. They are more than happy to discuss any concerns or queries you might have about returning to exercise and also don't forget to check in with your GP/ Midwife/ Health Visitor with any concerns. If you're looking for Mum and Baby Yoga in Whitley Bay, Cullercoats or Tynemouth our local classes are perfect for you.

MUM AND MOVER YOGA

Suitable for babies who are on the move (6-18months)  up to when they need a little more space up to preschool. Allowing a little more roaming and interaction to allow you both to continue to enjoy yoga together. Siblings welcome (max 2 children per adult) 1 paying adult, session is 45 minutes.

POSTNATAL PILATES

Tuesday 1pm

Designed specifically for new mums, this gentle and supportive class helps you rebuild strength, improve posture, and regain core stability after childbirth. With a focus on safe exercises, you'll work at your own pace to reconnect with your body and ease common postnatal aches. Babies are welcome, creating a relaxed environment where you can care for yourself and bond with your little one.

WHAT IS NURTURE?

Postnatal Support Group from birth

Thursdays 11.30am, Cullercoats

This session originated post pandemic when we were desperate as new mums to seek that face to face support and community of fellow mothers.

We are delighted to be bringing this back into our full postnatal programme as a Pay As You Feel Session with donations to a community asset, Cullercoats Watch House. 

The sessions offer a chance to regularly meet with other local mums, hear from local experts and most importantly space to be you - embracing your new role as a mother but not overlooking the challenges and realities of having a baby. 

Benefits for Mum:
- Self Awareness and Confidence Building.
-Understanding your new role as a mother.
- Improve postnatal mental health and reduce potential for postnatal depression 
- Bonding with baby and learning their cues 
- Learn to relax with baby through breathing and relaxation techniques

- Feeding Support

- Exploring Baby's primitive reflexes through Rhythmic Movement

- Enhances baby's development and sensory awareness

- Understand and explore baby cues in the 4th trimester
- If they are asleep during the session it's no problem!

Enjoying a cuppa, cake and chat about all things baby (and everything else!) during each session.

 

Each week we will focus on a different theme and will also have guest speakers attend to give expert advice, such as;

- Sleep (or lack of it!)

- Infant Feeding 

- Maintaining Relationships

- Supporting each other 

Postnatal Restore Series (6-week block) — recommended for best progression and community continuity

Drop-in option — for those joining intermittently

What is POSTNATAL YOGA?

Our postnatal sessions are specialist movement and recovery classes, expertly designed for women who want to heal, reconnect and regain strength safely after childbirth.

 

These are not generic yoga classes — they integrate breath, nervous-system awareness, and postnatal-specific sequencing suitable from approximately 6 weeks postpartum (after medical clearance).

 

Babies are welcome and included as part of your experience.

What happens in class?

Our 90 minute classes promote bonding with baby through soothing and settling techniques  and once baby is settled we focus on supporting postnatal recovery with specifically designed sequences. 

For You:

- Reconnect with your body with intelligent, postpartum-safe movement

- Gentle, evidence-informed support for core, pelvic floor and posture

- Nervous-system regulation for greater calm and resilience

- Space to breathe, reset and feel held in your recovery journey

 

For Your Baby:

- A calm, welcoming environment where your baby can be present

- Techniques that support soothing and settling

- Optional bonding moments woven into movement

What is Mum & Mover Yoga?

Crawling to Preschool 

Friday 10am (Term Time)

A chance to continue your yoga journey together or get some active time for you without the need for childcare. Have two under 4? No problem, older siblings welcome as well as baby.

Sessions are focus on postnatal recovery with emphasis on core and pelvic floor. Following on from our Mum and Baby Yoga we continue to work with breathing and relaxation techniques to help sooth baby and active mummy minds.

What happens in class?

Our 45 minute classes promote postnatal recovery with specifically designed sequences. We provide baby "play stations" and double mat set out for you and baby so they can roam, roll or rest as they please. There is also large play mats set up in the centre with toys.

Benefits for Mum:
- Defining the core and the pelvic floor.
- Relieve mummy aches and pains from lifting car seats, hip carrying and feeding.
- Improve postnatal mental health and reduce potential for postnatal depression 
- Sensory awareness and motor stimulation for baby 
 

Benefits for Baby:
- Baby can explore the world around them in a safe space
- Enhances baby's development and sensory awareness
- Baby gets to enjoy yoga with you (if they want to!)
- If they are asleep during the session you get more yoga!

- Meet and socialise with other mums and babies

Enjoying a cuppa, cake and chat about all things baby (and everything else!) at the end of every class.
